Savasana, also known as the Relaxation Pose, is experienced at the end of every Kundalini Yoga Class. This consists of lying flat on your back, supported if necessary with pillows under knees or neck. Eyes closed gently with slow deep breaths, inhaling and exhaling, allowing your body and mind to let go of any unwanted stress. Releasing any tension. This is the most important time of the whole class. A complete integration of the energies from all the movements and actions in the class.
While in Savasana, your senses will be guided to travel with the frequencies of the singing sound bowls as your body remains completely relaxed. The high vibrations of these ancient instruments are also used to balance the chakras (energy centers of the body), reduce stress and reduce our mental chatter.
Join us on a journey of the Sacred Sound. Give your mind, body, and soul time to indulge in a whole-body Sound Bath that will promote and achieve enhanced wellness, release blocked emotions, and make you feel more balanced in your body.

In each class, we use a particular combination of breath, sound, visual focus, and movements which are called a Krya.
Krya's have a specific focus, a prescription or recipe for each class. In each Krya, we use a series of sounds (Mantras), movements (Asanas)and silence, breath work (Pranayama) that, all together affect your body, mind, and spirit energy. They all move and guide you, circulating energy, awareness, and transitions to your body. Creating more calmness, balance, and peacefulness.

SAT NAAM - THE TRUTH IS MY IDENTITY
Sat - rhymes with the word hut.
Naam - rhymes with mom.
Sat Naam is the seed (bij) mantra, meaning that from there, other things grow. When we say "Sat Nam" to one another, we acknowledge the divine truth in our being. The cosmic truth of divinity is that we are one; it is often used upon greeting and departure instead of "hi" and "bye" on any occasion. You can mentally chant Sat on your inhale and Naam on the exhale. This mantra can cut through the mental clutter and bring you back to your truth.
As we chant, the 84 meridian points on the upper palate are stimulated through the movement of chanting. This sends signals to our nervous system and brain, affecting our chemistry and the energy of our body's endocrine and parasympathetic systems. Our whole being vibrates every time we speak, chant, or even think…what would you like to resonate within your being?
Wahee Guru -
Sat NAAM WAHE GURUIt is pronounced like "Wha-hay GuRoo." The tongue flicks the top of the mouth as you chant the 'r' in the guroo. Wahe is like, "WOW!!" It is an exclamation of wonder. There is no 'one' interpretation. Guru brings us out of the darkness of ignorance and into the light of understanding - like a teacher. It can also be seen as coming into the light, elevating our consciousness.
Wahe Guru can be interpreted as any of the following: The Bliss of God "God is great.""I am in ecstasy when I experience the Indescribable Wisdom" (from KRI). I am in bliss coming into the Wondrous Light!In other words, there are infinite ways you could interpret this mantra, for it refers to an infinite experience.
It is said that chanting Wahe Guru is the equivalent of chanting Har 11,000 times. There is no such thing as chanting this mantra too much. Instead, it is often used to express thanks to the Infinite, in celebration of this incredible flow of the divine, and to bow in humility to the wonders of this world. Wahe Guru!!

GURU GURU WAHE GURU, GURU RAM DAS GURU calls upon Guru Ram Das in praise of his spiritual guiding light and protective grace.
Siri Gaitri Mantra RA MA DA SA, SA SAY SO HUNG is chanted for healing. Ra is the Sun, Ma is the Moon, Da is the Earth, and Sa is Infinity. Say is the totality of Infinity, and So Hung is "I am Thou." "Ra Ma Da Sa" is the Earth Mantra. and "Sa Say So Hung" is the Ether Mantra.
Panj Shabad
SA TA NA MA expresses the five primal sounds of the universe. "S" is Infinity, "T" is life, "N" means death, and "M" is rebirth. (The 5th sound is "A.") This is one of the most frequently used mantras in Kundalini Yoga. This mantra is used in the Kirtan Kriya, recitation of this mantra along with hand movements helps with memory issues and has strong scientific documentation.
Adi Shakti Mantra
EK ONG KAR, SAT NAM, SIRI WHA (HE) GURU is very powerful for awakening the Kundalini and suspending the mind in bliss. Ek means "One, the essence of all" Ong is the primal vibration from which all creativity flows, Kar is a "creation," Sat "truth," Nam "name" Siri "great," Whaa "ecstasy" Guru is "wisdom." Taken all together, means, "There is one Creator whose name is truth. Great is the ecstasy of that Supreme Wisdom"!

Translation: In all directions circulates divine energy. In all directions circulates divine joy. Self-enlightened, in beauty and unity with all existence. Remover of sadness, a manifestation of kindness. Always within everyone, eternal and spectacular. Chatara Chakara Vartee chanting Chattra Chakkra Vartee, you will elevate the frequency in your cells and increase the light around your body so you attract health, goodness, happiness, and protective grace. This is a mantra for complete protection. It removes fear, anxiety, depression, and phobias. It infuses our cells with fearlessness and courage, and listening to it at night is wonderful to create harmony and peace in the subconscious mind while sleeping. It has helped many children who experienced night terrors, as it elevates our frequency during REM sleep periods.

These Breathing exercises and the breath provides power to open the lungs and activate the diaphragm. We are activating the Parasympathetic Nervous System so that your body relaxes and becomes more aware. So one can go deeper into a posture and your awareness and energy can be moved, elevated, and transformed.
Each posture in class is done with a specific breath pattern (Pranayama).

MANTRA - CHANTING
Every class incorporates the chanting of mantra's. The use of frequency - sound vibration technology, is accessed by chanting sacred words. We use sound as a tool to experience the present moment and shift out of negative thought patterns. Chanting lifts and elevates the spirit and aligns your mind with the vibration of higher emotion- joy, happiness, gratitude, peacefulness, and the divine.
DYNAMIC MOVEMENTS
Each Kundalini Yoga class incorporates a Kriya (series) of movements/postures for a particular effect, a specific focus, and to balance different chakras (energy centers), which help to increase the flow of prana (life force) to various organs and glands within the body. Bandhas (muscle body locks) are often used in Kundalini yoga. There are three, pelvic area, diaphragm, and neck. Bandhas are used to direct energy flow and align ourselves with the body's energy flow to activate the Parasympathetic nervous system.Your experience will vary greatly from class to class, depending on which kriya the teacher decides to teach that day. Movements range from rotating or repetitive spine flexing to more familiar postures, such as cat-cow or downward dog, to lying on the floor and laughing. Expect the unexpected. INWARD GAZE
Directing our gaze - is called Dristhi. We gently close our eyes and turn our focus inward during many exercises. For example, you may be directed to focus your gaze inward towards the 'third eye' between the mid-brow points. This helps to focus the mind and brings us to a more present state of being.
MEDITATION
Every class includes meditation, usually at the end of the class after the kriya. Kundalini Meditations are quite varied and often incorporate a specific breathing exercise, mantra(chant), and mudra (hand gesture). In our classes, meditation ranges from 3 minutes to 11 minutes.
AT YOUR OWN PACE
Many postures and class elements may feel unconventional, and you will be confronted with the choice to either respond with resistance or surrender to the experience and meet your edge. Although tension, pressure, stress, and friction are involved in any exercise, you are encouraged to move at your own pace and modify your body as needed for your body. As you get more familiar with the practice, being present, keeping up, and making conscious decisions to take your body and mind beyond your comfort zone will make all the difference. Meet your edge but at your own pace! Surrendering to the experience will clear fears you didn't know existed, providing you with a powerful connection to a deeper, more natural SELF.

KUNDALINI ENERGY YOGA, is an ancient technology, using the combination of breath work, movements, silence, awareness and sound to create an Inner experience of the body.
Everything we do in class is designed to open up the circulation of Kundalini Energy flow (prana, life-force) within the body.
Through the two main Energetic Orbits in the body - Macro and Micro, the breath work helps to move and circulate the energy in these two horizontal and vertical energies of Macro and Micro Orbits.
Stated by my teacher Brett Larkin-
"Kundalini is just an Energetic Orbit".
The main Macro Orbit circulates up vertically from the lower spine to the head and down the front of the body, activating the Vagus Nerve - Parasympathetic Nervous system. The second Micro Orbit is activated in the horizontal meridians in the hands, held together in prayer pose, the circulation moves through the arms into the chest, through the heart area activating and opening the Heart Center.
Always remember the words of my teacher - Guru Singh:
"Do what you can do and feel good about that."
A person with limited flexibilities and mobilities can do Kundalini Yoga. Even a person sitting in a wheelchair, one can receive many benefits.
In class, after each movement we experience in silence the inner sensations, allowing us to open up to many new awarenesses. Releasing and letting go of stagnant energy, emotions, feelings and opening up to new creativity levels, flexibilities and vitality.
This inner awareness is what is known as stretching into our Body Glove.
Kundalini translates:
Kunda=Coil and Lini = Line or nerve.
CHANTING / MANTRA is a Sound Vibration Technology.
Your Voice vibration is unique and healing for your own body's constitution. Your authentic voice is unique - No one in the world has it. Using your voice stimulates the throat and the glands in that area of the body.
Chanting activates your Inner Authority awareness and your right to be you. The more your voice is activated, the more inner and outer confidence is developed and discovered bringing more awareness and mindfulness to your life.
Chanting and Singing are different, each with different intentions and outcomes.

ENERGETIC ORBIT CIRCULATION FLOW Vertical and Horizontal Flow, sometimes called the Macro and Micro Orbits. Kundalini Yoga is about accessing that energy circulation flow with inner awareness, breathwork, moving the energy so it moves freely all through the body's emotional and energetic fields as well, with no obstructions. This free flowing circulation creates more balance, health, relaxation, flexibilities and happiness.
